Lemon Essential Oil – a fresh, citrusy aroma

Scroll down to content

Lemon is an uplifting and fruity essential oil which is expressed from the rind of the fruit and has a fresh, zesty aroma. It’s toning and clarifying for your skin and also makes a great natural disinfectant for your home.

I really enjoy a few drops of Lemon Essential Oil in my diffuser, it reminds me of a crisp summer’s day when I need a little pick me up.

Bath & Shower

Inhale the aromatic stream while your skin absorbs all the benefits of the oil. For adults, add up to 5 drops in 2 tbsp bath oil, shower gel, full fat milk or carrier oil. For children over 2 years old or adults with sensitive skin, reduce the amount to up to 2 drops per 2 tbsp.

This technique helps to clear your head and nose. For adults, add 4–6 drops to a bowl of steaming water, place a towel over your head and breathe. Children over 2 years old, adults with sensitive skin and asthmatics should not inhale directly. Instead, place the bowl of hot water with added oils in the room nearby.

Diffusers & Burners

You can use Lemon Essential Oil as a natural air freshener to create a cleansing ambiance. Add 1-3 drops into your diffuser and you’ll be impressed with the results.

It’s recommended that you use in moderation as it can be an irritant on the skin when undiluted, something which applies to many other essential oils. I always have my Lemon Essential Oil close to hand when I’m pottering about the home.
